WORKSHOP "The labour market discrimination of LGBTI people: European law and good practices".

Friday July 6th from 1 pm to 4 pm at the Law Society, 113 Chancery Lane, London, WC2 IPL.

Avvocatura per i Diritti LGBTI – Rete Lenford, in cooperation with the Law Society, is proud to inform you of the following workshop. The workshop is a high level occasion to discuss the current situation of and the possible policies against the labour market discrimination of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender/transsexual, intersexual people (LGBTI). The workshop will gather law professionals and policymarkers from European countries and supranational institutions, especially those responsible for labour market policies at the local level. Everyone who is interested in LGBTI issues is welcome. The objectives of the workshop are to disseminate new ideas on what public authorities and private actors may do to combat the discrimination of LGBTI people in the labour market. The workshop will be preceded by a short buffet lunch.

Invited speakers are:

• Ms.Sue Nelson, Chair of the Law Society equality and diversity committee;
• Mr. Massimiliano Monanni, Director General of UNAR (the National Antidiscrimination Office of the Italian Government);
• Dr. Carlo D'Ippoliti, Sapienza University of Rome;
• Mr. Kevin Poulter, Employment Lawyer, Bircham Dyson Bell LLP, on behalf of the Law Society;
• Ms. Annachiara Cerri, Head of the LGBT Issues Unit at the Directorate of Human Rights and Democracy of the Council of Europe;
• Mr. Juan Gonzalez Mellizo, team leader of non-discrimination policies at the Unit Non discrimination policies and Roma coordination of the DG Justice, Fundamental Rights and Citizenship.
